I'm Nikol Lohr, creator of these silly planners. My friends know me as a joyless literalist, always judging, judging. But I'm trying to reform. If you're an internet nerd of a certain age, you may remember me from Disgruntled Housewife, Smile and Act Nice, or Out of the Frying Pan. These days, I run The Harveyville Project, a creative workshop & retreat housed in a couple of old rural school buildings, home to Yarn School, Cheese School, and other fun-filled workshops (well, in the Beforetimes, anyway). I've written a couple knitting books & run Art Club.

I've been making my "The Year of the..." engagement calendars on and off since the late 90s, mostly on since 2003, and I'm proud to have many folks who have been enjoying them from the beginning. I design and write the books, which are typically illustrated with glorious old pubic domain artwork, and occasionally original art.
The covers are hand-made (lately letterpress or block print, hand-printed by me on my little line-o-scribe) and the books themselves are printed in house and cut, assembled, and bound by hand, down to chopping, scoring, trimming and applying velcro to the little pockets we make out of old school folders. I honestly didn't realize how bananas building them was until I had to explain all the steps to another human. In the prior couple years, I was joined in the assembly by Char Osman, my Harveyville Project assistant, though I've been on my own the last couple years, thanks to the Coronatimes.
